Juncus tenuis

Path Rush is an easy-going, easy to grow grasslike perennial. Erect green sheaths ascend with tiny clusters of green flowers in summer. Capping at two feet, it makes an excellent groundcover, even in places where not much else will grow. It is resistant to erosion, wet soil, and even light compaction. Path Rush loves wetter soils but can also handle occasional drought. It would be a great container plant or would look beautiful beside a pond. It is one of the few plants that can withstand foot traffic, making it an excellent lawn replacement. Although this plant is evergreen, leaves may dull or brown over time. This is normal and they can be removed to make room for fresh, new growth.
