Gaillardia pulchella

Blanketflower is a short-lived perennial in the Asteraceae family. Although short-lived, it has a
long bloom time, from Spring until the first frost. Flowers are bright red, orange, to yellow and
daisy-like. The name Blanketflower comes from the pattern on the petals resembling woven
blankets. Propagation is best done by seed, and this plant readily reseeds whatever the songbirds don’t eat.
