Asplenium platyneuron

Ebony Spleenwort is an evergreen perennial fern in the Aspleniaceae family. A small fern, the
alternate serrate fronds only come at about 8 inches to one foot and 8 inches tall. If you have a
particularly dry and shady area, this is a fantastic plant to consider. Being one of the most
drought tolerant of ferns, it is also easy to grow. It can be used as a groundcover, although
growth is more spread out and could be used with another groundcover for variety. As with most ferns, deer tend to stay away from Ebony Spleenwort.
